There is something beautifully simplistic about the voice and piano combination on Dan Whitehouse’s ‘Only Love’ album, which is out now.

Singer-songwriter Dan Whitehouse has joined with pianist David O’Brien to create a collection of deeply thoughtful and thought-provoking songs built on a unique set of circumstances that reflect how complicated lives can often be.

Whitehouse is open about the realities of long-distance fatherhood and says: "I think of our relationship as a boomerang. I have to leave Japan to remain independent, develop my creative practice and be the father I want to be. Then we’re reunited and the cycle is complete again. It hurts, but the return is part of the love too."

And that is the root of Only Love, where it is simply (again) love which drives the best decisions.

This is a gorgeous album, where the tunes and the lyrics come together to help us all discover what we will do for love.
